As compound maritime risk reaches a new threshold, Anglo-Eastern Univan Group (Anglo-Eastern) is running its centralised Global Security Desk (GSD) hard.
The GSD is providing structured intelligence and decision-support across a fleet that includes 16 vessels and more than 350 seafarers across 12 nationalities directly affected by the Hormuz situation.
The Desk, established in 2024 to bridge the gap between raw security data and actionable guidance, now monitors a managed fleet of over 700 vessels, with 30 to 50 ships transiting high-risk areas at any given time.
The risk picture extends well beyond the Gulf. The Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb, the Gulf of Guinea, the east coast of Somalia, the Straits of Malacca, and Black Sea all require simultaneous, sustained attention.
Sanctions complexity, cyber exposure, electronic interference, and geopolitical fragmentation have reshaped what maritime risk looks like operationally; it is no longer defined by discrete geographical hotspots.

The GSD operates around the clock alongside Anglo-Eastern’s 24/7 risk assurance services, drawing intelligence from recognised naval and maritime security organisations while maintaining liaison with flag states, P&I clubs, and industry bodies.
Overnight intelligence reviews, cross-functional coordination, and vessel-level reporting form its structured daily cadence, ensuring no vessel or crew falls below the threshold of attention during prolonged periods of uncertainty.
