Carriers revise services amid Middle East escalation
Wan Hai Lines and Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) have each announced adjustments to their respective container services, citing the escalating situation in the Middle East.

In a customer advisory issued on 5 March 2026, Wan Hai Lines said changes will be made to its AA5 Asia–US West Coast service “in light of the escalating situation in the Middle East”.

According to the notice, the service will operate on the following rotation: Kaohsiung – Shekou – Nansha – Yantian – Los Angeles – Oakland – Kaohsiung.

The carrier advised customers to refer to updated sailing schedules for details of vessel deployment and effective voyages.

Separately, OOCL also issued a customer advisory on the same day stating that adjustments to one of its services are being implemented “in light of the escalating situation in the Middle East”.

The company said updated schedules and operational details would be communicated through its regular customer channels.

The announcements come as shipping lines continue to adjust services and routing decisions in response to escalating tensions affecting operations across the Middle East.
