The CMA CGM Group has moved its Africa regional office to Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, consolidating strategic functions including Commercial, Export Pricing, Customer Service, Intermodal and Equipment Management.
The relocation aims to enhance service delivery across the continent and improve responsiveness to customers, partners and institutions.
The office is led by Adeline Gabillaud, Vice President and Africa Regional Director, who brings nearly 30 years of experience in maritime transport and logistics and extensive knowledge of African markets.
CMA CGM has operated in Africa for more than 50 years, maintaining 91 offices across 54 countries, employing 3,400 staff, and running 33 maritime services calling at over 80 ports. Its African maritime network includes:
- Europe-Africa (EURAF): Weekly services connecting Northern Europe, the Mediterranean and the Atlantic to West and Central African markets.
- MIDAS 1: Weekly service linking West Africa to India, the Middle East and the Gulf, connecting ports such as Pointe-Noire, Tema and Apapa to hubs at Jebel Ali, Mundra and Nhava Sheva.
- Asia-Africa services: Direct weekly connections from Asia to African ports, including Kilima (Asia–East Africa) and WAX (major West African ports).
The group also operates eight container terminals in Africa: Lekki (Nigeria), Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire), Kribi (Cameroon), Nouakchott and Nouadhibou (Mauritania), Tangier, Casablanca and Nador (Morocco).
Through its intermodal division and CEVA Logistics, CMA CGM provides end-to-end logistics solutions, supporting the entire supply chain from maritime operations to inland depots and last-mile delivery.
The integrated network is designed to optimise flows, reduce lead times and strengthen supply chain resilience amid evolving global trade dynamics.
