COLI Group completed four project cargo shipments between February and September 2026.
The projects involved moving specialist equipment across multiple international routes, each requiring different transport and cargo-handling solutions.
The shipments included a used mobile crane, an industrial compressor, a metro railcar and 90-tonne generator sets, covering movements between Europe, Africa, South America and Asia.
For an Ivorian mining project, COLI’s Antwerp office arranged the transport of a used Liebherr mobile crane from Geertruidenberg in the Netherlands to the Port of Abidjan in Côte d’Ivoire, before its onward movement to an inland mining site.
A separate shipment involved an Atlas Copco compressor transported from Antwerp to Antofagasta, Chile.
The unit exceeded the weight and dimensions suitable for standard road equipment, requiring a specialist truck for loading, as well as specialist lashing, securing and dunnage (LSD) work and protective covering.
The compressor was then transported as an escorted abnormal load to the Port of Antwerp before continuing by sea to northern Chile.
COLI also moved a metro railcar from Brazil to the railway test centre at Petite-Forêt near Valenciennes, France. The facility is among a limited number worldwide capable of conducting the required trials.

Eduardo Pijpe, Account Manager at COLI Antwerp, said: “Winning this tender meant a lot to us. Our client had worked with us before, and having our own people in both Brazil and Antwerp meant we could offer a one-stop shop solution from factory to test track rather than a handover halfway.”
The fourth project involved generator sets weighing 90 tonnes each, along with lifting equipment and 30-tonne alternators, transported from Bergen, Norway, to Abidjan.
COLI arranged the ocean transport, including the chartering of a breakbulk vessel and vessel agency services. The generators were loaded directly onto MAFI trailers, while lashing, seafastening and marine surveys were also managed as part of the operation.
Eduardo Pijpe, Account Manager at COLI Antwerp, stated: “We’ve had an interesting Q1, 2 and 3! These four were not our biggest projects ever, and that is rather the point. Individually they can be seen as routine project cargo; together they map what our team handles frequently, and show the versatile portfolio we can offer to our clients.
“Four shipments, four continents, eight countries, and different sets of rules, languages and expectations in every one of them. From small breakbulk consignments to full heavy lift charters, a client only hands you a job like that if they trust you with every part of it, that is what makes me proud.”
