Damen Shipyards Group has acquired Southampton-based I.M.E Group Ltd, strengthening its UK service network and enhancing lifecycle support for both Damen and non-Damen vessels.
The move underscores Damen’s strategic goal of offering comprehensive maritime support across the UK, including on-site assistance, mechanical and electrical engineering, docking services, parts supply, and maintenance.

Founded in 2006, I.M.E specialises in 24/7 repair and maintenance support across the maritime and energy sectors, covering everything from day-to-day breakdowns to turnkey projects.
In 2023, Damen Services and I.M.E signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to co-locate facilities and expand service offerings.
Damen Services’ UK Service Hub, strategically located in Southampton, provides rapid local support to operators of Damen vessels.
The company recently opened an additional office in Portchester, adjacent to a docking site with synchrolift facilities, further enhancing operational capabilities in the region.
