Deltamarin wins five AiPs for next-gen eco-friendly ships
Deltamarin has received five Approvals in Principle (AiPs) from DNV and Lloyd’s Register (LR) for its next-generation vessel designs, announced at Marintec China in Shanghai.

The approvals cover a 20,000 cubic metres (CBM) LNG bunkering vessel, a hybrid and wind-assisted 9,500 CBM liquefied ethylene gas carrier, a 6,200 deadweight tonnage (DWT) duplex stainless steel chemical tanker, a 103,000 CBM very large ethane carrier, and an 8,000 TEU methanol-ready containership.

The LNG bunkering vessel supports large-scale LNG supply and future clean-fuel infrastructure, enhancing operational efficiency and safety.

The hybrid ethylene gas carrier combines battery-hybrid and wind-assisted propulsion, improving energy efficiency and enabling operations in Ice Class 1A waters.

The chemical tanker features duplex stainless steel cargo tanks and redundancy systems that allow reverse propulsion if the main engine fails, reducing environmental risk while optimising deadweight under EU ETS rules.

The VLEC’s three-tank design maximises safe, efficient transport of liquefied ethane, strengthening the global clean-gas supply chain.

The methanol-ready container vessel is prepared to operate on green methanol, supporting decarbonisation in container shipping.

Recently, Greencarrier AB acquired a 60 per cent majority stake in Container Norway Utleie AS, one of Norway’s leading specialists in container sales, rental, and development.
