Grandweld Shipyards has signed an agreement with Bahri Logistics, the integrated logistics business unit of Saudi Arabia’s national shipping carrier Bahri.
Under the deal, Grandweld will design and build two advanced offshore support vessels.
Under the agreement, Grandweld will design and construct the vessels to meet Bahri Logistics’ offshore operational requirements at Ras Tanura Port, one of the world’s busiest energy hubs and a critical gateway for Saudi Arabia’s oil exports.
The partnership combines Grandweld’s engineering and shipbuilding capabilities with Bahri Logistics’ more than 40 years of maritime, logistics and offshore operational experience, aimed at strengthening specialised offshore service capacity in Saudi Arabia.
The agreement was formalised during a signing ceremony at Grandweld’s office in Dubai Maritime City, attended by representatives from both companies and from Grandweld’s parent company, Stanford Marine. The vessels are scheduled for delivery this year.
Jamal Al Abki, General Manager, Grandweld Shipyards, said: “Our collaboration with Bahri Logistics reflects the confidence placed in Grandweld’s ability to design and deliver advanced vessels for demanding offshore environments. By combining our in-house engineering and shipbuilding expertise with Bahri Logistics’ operational strength, we are developing purpose-built vessels that will enhance operational efficiency, reliability, and safety in one of the region’s most important energy corridors.
“This project also reflects the ambitions of the UAE’s Make it in the Emirates initiative by showcasing the country’s advanced engineering and shipbuilding capabilities in delivering globally competitive maritime solutions.”
