Hyster has introduced a fully integrated lithium-ion battery and charging system designed specifically for its forklift range.
The solution combines power supply, charging infrastructure and onboard systems into a single validated ecosystem.
The solution is intended to reduce operational issues linked to mixed or third-party power configurations, including software incompatibility, charging faults and performance inconsistencies.
It also connects with Hyster Tracker™ telemetry, enabling near real-time visibility of battery status alongside wider fleet and equipment data.
At the system level, integration allows the battery to communicate directly with lift truck functions, providing operators with performance insights and alerts such as low charge or high temperature conditions, supporting safer and more consistent operation.

The system is based on lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry, offering high energy density, thermal stability, extended service life and fast charging capability, supporting multi-shift operations in demanding environments.
A modular battery architecture also allows individual modules to be serviced independently, reducing the need for full pack replacement.
Charging infrastructure has been simplified through plug-in access ports, removing the need to open equipment compartments during charging cycles.
Built-in interlock systems prevent vehicle movement while connected, while fast-charging units can be deployed in high-traffic operational areas to support opportunity charging strategies.

From an operational perspective, the system is designed to support continuous uptime by integrating equipment, energy systems and data visibility into a single framework.
The inclusion of telemetry-linked battery monitoring reflects a wider trend in industrial logistics toward connected asset management and predictive maintenance approaches.
The Hyster dealer network provides end-to-end support across batteries, charging systems and equipment, centralising servicing and warranty processes to reduce fragmentation across suppliers and infrastructure components.
