Kongsberg Maritime has won a contract worth over 300 million NOK ($31.2 million) to deliver complete ship designs and integrated systems for Petrobras/Transpetro.
The vessels will measure 150.6 metres in length, 23.4 metres in breadth, with a design draught of 8.2 metres and a deadweight of approximately 15,600 deadweight tonnage (dwt).
Based on Kongsberg’s NVC 615 PT design, part of its NVC family of merchant vessels, the ships combine proven efficiency with adaptability for future fuels.
With more than 50 years of ship design experience and over 1,000 vessels delivered worldwide, Kongsberg Maritime continues to set benchmarks in innovation and sustainability.
MareNova Consortium representatives, Robson Passos and Alexandre Kloh, said: “This contract with Kongsberg Maritime underscores our shared vision for innovation, sustainability, and industrial strength.
“By combining Ecovix’s scale and offshore heritage with MacLaren’s long-standing naval experience, MareNova is perfectly positioned to deliver these state-of-the-art, future-fuel-ready tankers for Petrobras/Transpetro — while helping drive the renaissance of shipbuilding in Brazil.”
