MacGregor has signed contracts with China Merchants Jinling Shipyard to supply RoRo equipment for TT-Line’s two new Green Ship 2.0 battery-hybrid LNG ferries.
The company describes it as one of its most extensive RoPax equipment scopes to date. The order was booked into MacGregor’s Q2 2026 orders received.
The 240-metre vessels will offer 5,400 lane metres of cargo capacity and accommodation for 1,000 people each, and will operate on Baltic Sea routes connecting Sweden, Germany, Poland and Lithuania.
The ferries form part of TT-Line’s wider push toward lower-emission, higher-efficiency sea travel across the Baltic. Running on battery-hybrid technology powered by LNG, the vessels are intended to reduce carbon emissions and improve energy efficiency while supporting freight and passenger transit.
The agreement follows a project development phase that began in 2021, with MacGregor citing operational insights and technical lessons from previous fleet projects as inputs into the new vessels’ design and equipment reliability.
