Meiji Shipping Group has selected FrontM’s INFOTAINMENT module to strengthen fleet communication, ship-shore collaboration and crew engagement, rolling the technology out under its own MMS Channel branding.
FrontM describes itself as an AI-native operating platform for the maritime industry, designed to help shipping companies use improved vessel connectivity for practical onboard applications rather than internet access alone.
Under the rollout, Meiji will initially install three FrontM Loft Kiosks per ship, forming the onboard touchpoints for the MMS Channel.
The touch-enabled kiosks will deliver safety and welfare campaigns, described internally as “Osekkai Initiatives”, alongside company updates, training content and livestreamed shore-based events.
Built-in cameras and two-way video conferencing will support toolbox meetings and direct ship-shore interaction, while touch programming will enable crew feedback, surveys and digital acknowledgements.

Capt. Ryusuke Yoshigae, President of MMS Co., Ltd., Tokyo, said: “Good communication is not only about sharing information, but also about ensuring that it reaches our seafarers in a clear and practical way. The FrontM Loft Kiosk trial showed that information can be delivered more effectively through an accessible and interactive platform.
“It also provides a valuable opportunity to strengthen communication between ship and shore while supporting safety, compliance, learning and crew welfare. Based on these positive results, we have decided to move forward with the MMS Channel.”
Beyond the onboard hardware, FrontM will provide a managed content service covering communication planning, editorial calendars, content creation and platform monitoring, aiming to keep the MMS Channel active and consistent without placing the burden of content production on shore-based teams.
Kiran Kumar Venkatesh, CEO of FrontM, stated: “Improved connectivity is creating an important opportunity for shipping companies to rethink how vessels and shore teams communicate and operate as one organisation. We are honoured that Meiji Shipping Group has chosen FrontM as its partner.”
