Ocean Network Express (ONE) has confirmed a revision to its Emergency Fuel Surcharge (EFS), updating rates across long-haul and short sea trades from 15 August 2026, in the carrier’s second such adjustment this year following its previous update on 27 April.
The revised structure sets long-haul head-haul rates at $75 per TEU for dry cargo and $100 per TEU for reefer cargo, while long-haul back-haul rates will be set at $38 per TEU for dry cargo and $50 per TEU for reefer cargo.
Short sea trades will carry the same back-haul rate of $38 per TEU for dry cargo and $50 per TEU for reefer cargo.
The new rates apply from 15 August 2026 across both non-FMC regulated trades and FMC-regulated routes, including the US, American Samoa, Puerto Rico, Guam, Saipan, Hawaii and Canada.

ONE said the changes remain subject to regulatory approval and applicable notice periods, and will apply until further notice.
The carrier said it would continue tracking market conditions and adjust the surcharge accordingly, committing to keep customers informed of any further changes.
