Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) has launched a new South China Laem Chabang Service (CHL7).
The service is designed to strengthen connectivity between South China and Thailand for shippers and forwarders moving cargo between the two markets.
The service starts on 29 September 2026, linking Nansha, Yangpu and Laem Chabang with direct calls.
OOCL said the new service is intended to offer improved flexibility, connectivity and reliability for cargo movements between Southern China and Thailand, a routing addition that gives shippers another direct option on a trade lane that has seen growing intra-Asia demand.

The CHL7 rotation follows a Nansha – Laem Chabang – Yangpu – Nansha pattern, a tight three-port loop likely to appeal to cargo owners prioritising transit speed over broader network coverage.
The launch reflects a wider trend among carriers of adding more targeted, direct intra-Asia services rather than routing South China-Southeast Asia cargo through larger, multi-stop loops, as trade between the two regions continues to grow.
