Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) has launched a new service connecting India with East Africa, adding direct links between the two regions.
The Asia-East Africa Service 8 (EAX8) uses a butterfly network structure, linking India’s Nhava Sheva and Mundra gateways with Mombasa, Kenya, and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Two loops run simultaneously, giving weekly coverage of both East African ports while improving schedule reliability and operational flexibility.

The Mombasa Loop begins from Nhava Sheva on 22 September 2026, followed by the Dar es Salaam Loop on 23 September 2026.
EAX8 service rotation: Mombasa Loop (Southbound/Northbound): Nhava Sheva → Mundra → Mombasa → Nhava Sheva
Dar es Salaam Loop (Westbound/Eastbound): Nhava Sheva → Mundra → Dar es Salaam → Nhava Sheva
