Orca AI has secured a fleet-wide agreement with Athens-based ship manager Ionic.
Ionic operates eight crude tankers and 11 bulk carriers across its wet and dry divisions.
The Orca AI platform is already installed on seven tankers.
Extending its commitment to safety and fuel efficiency, Ionic will now equip a recently delivered tanker and its entire dry fleet with the system.

The platform features the SeaPod digital watchkeeper, which enhances situational awareness, and the FleetView shoreside app, allowing office teams to monitor navigation and support real-time decisions.
Using computer vision and real-time data analytics, the system helps crews detect and classify targets earlier and more accurately.
This lowers collision risk, especially in congested or low-visibility conditions, while promoting more energy-efficient navigation.
The move aligns with Ionic’s goal of ‘zero incidents, zero spills.’

Spyros Vlassopoulos, Managing Director at Ionic, said: “We aim to operate a fleet that not only delivers reliable transport solutions, but also continuous improvement in safety, efficiency and environmental performance. The Orca AI platform adds a powerful layer of support for our crews, helping us to mitigate operational risk.”
Feedback from Ionic crews has been positive, particularly regarding performance in difficult weather and thermal tracking. The company has also noted a reduction in close-encounter events.
Vlassopoulos added: “Orca AI has been fast to address any concerns, and with their support and training we look forward to getting maximum value out of the platform.”
Yarden Gross, CEO and Co-founder of Orca AI, said: “By continuously updating the platform, we can help all our customers including Ionic to improve fleetwide visibility, support service excellence and safeguard seafarers, assets and cargo.”
