The Panama Canal has closed the document submission period for companies seeking to prequalify for the development of an energy corridor.
Submitted documentation will now be evaluated against the legal, technical and financial criteria set out in the prequalification documents and their subsequent amendments.
Once the evaluation is complete, the Panama Canal will publish a list of prequalified companies that will advance to the next phase, which will involve further engagement and dialogue with selected participants.
The Energy Corridor initiative aims to position Panama to meet evolving demands in the global energy market by strengthening the country’s logistics and energy platform.
The proposal envisions developing capabilities that complement the Panama Canal itself, while opening opportunities for companies to participate in strategic projects tied to Panama’s economic growth and competitiveness.

During this phase, the Panama Canal conducted a clarification period, issued three amendments to the prequalification documents, and received submissions from interested companies.
The process is intended to ensure transparency and fair competition among companies qualified to carry out the initiative.
