Pacific International Lines (PIL) has appointed Wan Chee Foong as Deputy Chief Executive Officer, effective 5 October 2026.
The move forms part of a planned leadership succession that will see him succeed Lars Kastrup as CEO in April 2027.
Kastrup will remain CEO through the handover before transitioning to an advisory role on the Board.
Wan brings close to 30 years of leadership experience across transportation, ports and logistics. At PSA International, he served in senior roles including Regional CEO for the Middle East and South Asia and CEO of PSA BDP, PSA’s global supply chain solutions arm.
He also spent nine years at Temasek, where he currently serves as Managing Director, Corporate Strategy, and began his career at Singapore Airlines. He sits as an independent director of Bahri, the National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia.

Since joining PIL as CEO in July 2022 following more than 40 years in container shipping, Kastrup has overseen a significant financial turnaround, with Group EBITDA rising from $558 million in FY2023 to $1.50 billion in FY2025, and net profit after tax reaching $1.04 billion in FY2025 on revenue of $4.27 billion.
Fleet capacity has grown more than 50 per cent to approximately 500,000 TEU, including ten LNG dual-fuel vessels delivered by H1 2026, with a further 18 newbuilds and 14 long-term charter vessels due by 2029.
Andrew M Lim, Chairman of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee and Independent Director, said: “Lars has guided PIL through an important period with steadiness, clarity and resolve. The company is stronger today – in its financial position, its fleet, its network and, importantly, in the quality of its leadership team and culture. In Chee Foong, the Board has chosen a leader with deep experience across ports, logistics, investment and strategy, and a strong understanding of the maritime sector.”
