Robosys, Sleipner merge AI with thruster control
Robosys Automation and Sleipner have announced a strategic partnership at Seawork 2026, combining autonomous navigation technology with precision thruster systems to deliver an integrated vessel control solution.

At the centre of the collaboration is the deployment of Robosys Automation’s VOYAGER AI REMOTE platform with Sleipner thruster integration.

The system enables station keeping, dynamic positioning, and vessel control by continuously monitoring environmental and operational conditions, automatically adjusting propulsion to maintain stability and efficiency.

Compatible with up to four Sleipner thrusters, the solution supports Track Control, Station Keeping, and Dynamic Positioning, with remote vessel control capabilities designed to reduce crew workload without compromising operational oversight.

The architecture is built to scale, providing a pathway towards broader remote and autonomous operations across both crewed and unmanned applications.

Nigel Lee, CSO of Robosys Automation, said: “Our collaboration with Sleipner reflects a shared commitment to innovation and operational excellence. By integrating Robosys’ VOYAGER AI REMOTE system with Sleipner’s trusted thruster technology, we are delivering a solution that enhances control today while enabling the transition to greater autonomy in the future.”

Russell Chadwick, General Manager of Sleipner UK, commented: “This partnership allows us to extend the capabilities of our thruster systems into the evolving autonomous landscape. Together with Robosys Automation, we are providing vessel operators with a smarter, more adaptable control solution. As the maritime industry continues to evolve, this collaboration positions both companies at the forefront of next-generation marine technology.”
