Sallaum Lines has taken simultaneous delivery of two new pure car and truck carriers (PCTCs), MV Ocean Express and MV Ocean Navigator.
Both vessels were built by China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Jiangsu) Co. Ltd. and registered under the Cyprus flag.
Each offers a cargo capacity of 7,400 CEU across 13 decks, with vehicle height and width clearances of 5.4 metres and 13.5 metres respectively, designed to handle passenger vehicles, heavy commercial trucks, high-clearance SUVs, rolling machinery and oversized project cargo.
Powered by LNG dual-fuel propulsion systems, the vessels incorporate energy-efficient technologies that exceed current International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulatory requirements, delivering reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and air pollutants while maintaining the operational reliability required for deep-sea shipping.

The deliveries come against a backdrop of sustained demand pressure. Over recent years, the appetite for Sallaum Lines’ services has repeatedly outpaced available capacity, constraining service consistency. The two new vessels are intended to address that gap directly.
China features prominently in the company’s near-term strategy. Sallaum Lines has operated eight sailings from the Far East to Europe in 2026 and has signalled plans to launch a dedicated China-Europe service in 2027.
