Tug Network Team (TNT), an alliance of independent towage operators launched in the Americas in 2024, has expanded into Europe with the addition of Fairplay Towage.
The move extends the network’s presence to 113 ports across 13 countries with a combined fleet of more than 200 tugs.
TNT was established by Group Ocean, Sulnorte and CPT Towage to strengthen cooperation among independent towage providers, share operational expertise and offer shipowners wider access to regional towage services.
With the inclusion of Fairplay Towage, the network gains a significant European operator. The Hamburg-based company operates in 24 ports across Europe, with a fleet of over 100 tugs serving key locations in Germany, the Baltics, Poland, the Netherlands and Belgium.

Richard Penning, Head of Global Sales & Growth Strategy at Fairplay Towage, said: “Joining Tug Network Team gives Fairplay a stronger international platform while keeping independent towage at its core. By linking well-positioned regional operators, we can offer customers broader reach, local expertise and a more joined-up service across key port regions.”
Jean-Philippe Brunet, Executive Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Partnerships at Group Ocean and Chairman of Tug Network Team, stated: “Fairplay’s entry is an important step for the alliance. It extends Tug Network Team into Europe and strengthens our offer to customers looking for dependable towage support across multiple regions.”
With Fairplay’s addition, TNT now connects towage providers across the Americas and Europe, offering shipowners and operators broader access to coordinated services through a network of independent operators.
