Valour Consultancy has released its latest market intelligence report, The Future of Maritime Digitalisation – 2025.
This report offers critical insights into how shipping companies are leveraging digital technologies to modernise operations and enhance crew services.
The report focuses on the evolution of IT management, cloud adoption, smart boxes, email services, live CCTV, crew entertainment platforms, and broader digital tools such as telemedicine and fleet management systems.
Report author, Alishia Sims, commented: “If I needed to highlight two areas, they would be the spread of cloud services, and the reasons companies choose to outsource their IT.
“Cloud services, in particular, stood out. These solutions can be broadly categorised into two segments: cloud infrastructure and storage services, which includes AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and SharePoint, as well as cloud applications. Segmenting these cloud applications allows a better understanding of the maritime industry’s cloud maturity status.
“Discussions with IT managers further highlighted the significance of this topic, with shipping companies actively planning and developing their cloud strategies for the coming years.”

Sims also highlighted OneNet, a division of Fameline Holding Group, as a standout example: “Another interesting finding was that OneNet, part of the Fameline Holding Group, has secured a strong position in the market, thanks to its strategic emphasis on IT services as a core offering alongside its connectivity business.”
Valour Consultancy estimates that digital services revenue covered in the report exceeded $530 million in 2024, reflecting a sharp rise in digital adoption across the maritime sector.
