Wärtsilä has renewed and expanded its Lifecycle Agreement with Brazil-based offshore operator Seagems, formerly known as Sapura, covering its fleet of offshore support vessels.
The agreement, booked in Q3 2025, reinforces a long-standing partnership and reflects the maritime sector’s move towards outcome-based service models, digital maintenance, and decarbonisation.
The expanded scope includes upgraded power and control software, Wärtsilä’s Data Collection Unit with cloud-based services, and Expert Insight, a predictive maintenance tool that enables real-time monitoring and proactive issue resolution.
These additions are aimed at improving efficiency, reducing fuel consumption, and minimising unplanned downtime across the Seagems fleet.

Seagems COO, Ricardo Bicudo said: “The renewal and expansion of the existing agreement will support our long-term operational goals, particularly in enhancing efficiency, reliability and sustainability.”
The vessels, which provide platform support and subsea services, operate in demanding offshore conditions and require high availability and robust performance.
Under the renewed deal, Seagems will also benefit from tailored field services for both engines and propulsion systems.
Henrik Wilhelms, Director of Agreement Sales at Wärtsilä Marine, added: “This renewed contract further strengthens our long-standing partnership with Seagems, reflecting confidence in our shared commitment to operational excellence and sustainable growth.”
