Westwood Global Energy Group has launched MarineLogix, a new offshore vessel intelligence platform covering the global offshore support, service and wind-related fleets serving the energy industry.
MarineLogix combines vessel profiles, interactive mapping, market analytics and news to deliver visibility of activity, availability and performance across more than 10,000 vessels, 2,500 owners and 30+ vessel classes worldwide.
At its core is a purpose-built historic utilisation methodology that uses large volumes of AIS data to generate continuous activity timelines based on offshore working behaviour, rather than generic movement metrics.
The platform assesses vessel activity against Westwood’s proprietary offshore infrastructure datasets, enabling utilisation analysis by region, vessel class and market segment, and supporting benchmarking of active working days across fleets and geographies.
The launch comes amid rising volatility across offshore oil and gas, offshore wind and energy transition markets, where shifting demand, regional bottlenecks and tighter deployment windows are increasing the risk of missed pricing opportunities and asset underutilisation.

Chen Wei, Senior Manager, Offshore Marine at Westwood, said: “One of the biggest challenges in the offshore vessel market is inconsistent and non-comparable measures of vessel activity, which can lead to late deployment, missed pricing opportunities and unclear market signals.
“MarineLogix is a comprehensive, intuitive platform that supports a range of working scenarios, allowing users to benchmark fleets, track daily market developments and step back to a regional or global view – giving operators, owners and investors confidence in their deployment and investment decisions.”
Dominic Ferry, CEO at Westwood, added: “MarineLogix is the natural next step in expanding Westwood’s OffshoreLogix environment. As offshore industries become more dynamic and interconnected, isolated updates are no longer sufficient.
“Organisations need a clearer view of how markets fit together, and MarineLogix broadens that perspective by complementing vessel intelligence with insights across rigs, subsea, platforms and offshore wind, giving decision-makers a more holistic understanding of market movements. It’s an exciting evolution for our product suite, bringing together proprietary data and commercial insight whilst utilising cutting-edge data science methodologies.”
